Las mujeres en el sistema artístico, 1804-1939

Congreso internacional

The international conference Women in the Art Scene (1804-1939) aims to analyze the role female artists played in the cultural scene between the beginning of the 19th century and the end of the Spanish civil war, taking into account the sociocultural transformations that facilitated or hindered their access to the professional sphere, also the names of the women authors, patrons, critics, etc. who were the protagonists of this process, as well as the artistic languages they used and how these female artists interpreted them.

Linked to the research project Women Artists in Spain, 1804-1939 —HAR 2017-84399-P—, the conference intends to relate its results with other investigations carried out by different European specialists.
